Not Empty

Sold 2017. Acrylic on canvas. approx 10" x 12" This painting is inspired by a visit to my sister's new quarter section near Tofield, AB. This view is across nearly natural prairie, looking at the canola on the horizon and the thick clouds. The grass was full, not empty. There were every size of insect, birds, a huge variety of flowers, grasses, weeds and bushes. This empty land filled me up.

2015. Acrylic on canvas. 16" x 16" This piece is about the journey we often made to pick up our son from his first job at Wendy's. Next door is the armoury where many parents pick up their children from cadets. This is where our children begin their training in one aspect of being an adult, ready for the front line, or ready for entry-level jobs.
